Position Purpose
Responsible for providing clerical support to the Service Department.
Essential Functions
- Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
- Sets up and maintains Service files, including but not limited to machine files and payroll documentation
- Processes technician time sheets and forwards to clerical staff for processing per guidelines
- Inputs data into open work orders such as fuel and lube, sublet, labor, and mileage
- Answers Service department telephone calls in a timely, professional manner
- Collects and relays information correctly, takes messages, and transfers calls appropriately
- Assists in telephone coverage for the branch per schedule
- Consistent and reliable on-site attendance
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- One-year office experience required; experience in heavy equipment or trucking industry preferred
- Exceptional Interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications
- Proficient 10-key skills
- Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit for long periods
- Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors associated with the shop
- Must be able to safely work around pressurized, mechanical, and electrical equipment
