About the Role
Butler’s Pantry has been delivering exceptional catering experiences for over 50 years. As a Service Captain, you will supervise service responsibilities at events, ensuring high-quality interactions with clients and guests while upholding professional service standards. This leadership role involves guiding and managing service staff to create memorable events.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a supervisory role at events, performing tasks and filling any role as needed.
- Motivate service staff to maximize efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Mentor, train, coach, and provide constructive feedback to the service team.
- Follow up on work-related correspondence with the Butler’s Pantry management team.
- Understand and enforce the Service Manual; clarify procedures for service staff.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Plan event logistics in advance, including assigning roles to front-of-house staff.
- Manage team time, including clocking staff in/out and reviewing timecards.
- Collaborate with Chefs and Facility Managers to complete venue closing checklists.
- Demonstrate leadership by modeling appropriate behavior and fostering a positive team environment.
- Act as a MIBE (Make It Better Everyday) Leader by recognizing and rewarding team members.
- Support a culture that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality service staff.
- Serve as an ambassador for the company, sharing its core values and vision.

- Extensive experience in the hospitality industry.
- Ability to thrive in a team-based, client-focused service environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and professional appearance.
- Mature, independent judgment to handle fast-paced, high-stress situations.
- Strong work ethic and ability to maintain positive working relationships.
- Tact, diplomacy, and professionalism in sensitive situations.
- Ability to provide unbiased feedback in complex situations.
- Physical stamina for standing long periods and lifting heavy loads.
