Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel-powered rental equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and executes OEM-recommended service schedules to maintain fleet health and compliance.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues, identifies repair scope, and escalates complex failures to Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Service & Repair Lead when necessary.
  • Generates, updates, and closes work orders documenting diagnostics, labor, parts usage, and repair outcomes to support fleet reporting and audit requirements.
  • Maintains compliance with OSHA, OES EHS, and site-specific safety standards while ensuring proper use of PPE and safe repair practices.
  • Assists with parts ordering, stock management, and inventory organization to support timely equipment turnaround.
  • Collaborates with branch staff and operations teams to prioritize production equipment repairs based on fleet demand.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical repair, diesel technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in equipment service, repair, or related mechanical field required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour General Industry certification required.
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred.
  • Must own and provide tools needed for the position.
