Service and Repair Mechanic
Responsibilities
- Diagnostics and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel-powered rental equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Performs preventive maintenance and executes OEM-recommended service schedules to maintain fleet health and compliance.
- Troubleshoots equipment issues, identifies repair scope, and escalates complex failures to Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Service & Repair Lead when necessary.
- Generates, updates, and closes work orders documenting diagnostics, labor, parts usage, and repair outcomes to support fleet reporting and audit requirements.
- Maintains compliance with OSHA, OES EHS, and site-specific safety standards while ensuring proper use of PPE and safe repair practices.
- Assists with parts ordering, stock management, and inventory organization to support timely equipment turnaround.
- Collaborates with branch staff and operations teams to prioritize production equipment repairs based on fleet demand.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Technical or vocational training in mechanical repair, diesel technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in equipment service, repair, or related mechanical field required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour General Industry certification required.
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred.
- Must own and provide tools needed for the position.
