About the role

The Shop Service Advisor will assist in processing work orders and haul tickets, log shop activities, and coordinate repairs, job status, and delivery back to the customer. This position is an important member of the Shop Team and requires excellent customer service, a great attitude, and the ability to communicate with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Creates work orders (shop services, planned maintenance, and warranty)
  • Ensures accuracy of work order information (model, serial number)
  • Continually updates and verifies shop log and master schedule
  • Tracks work order status
  • Coordinates pick-up/delivery of units
  • Manages shop subletting; delivery and return with correct information
  • Coordinates with Mark Salas on the building maintenance of shop
  • Ensures sufficient supply of gas and diesel
  • Manages tool tagging and communicates with fixed assets
  • Checks out tools to technicians and tracks until returned
  • Issues and tracks supplies/tools to technicians
  • Tracks inventory and replenishes when necessary
  • Orders supplies from vendors
  • Posts all timecards for shop technicians
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the company

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years minimum experience in a heavy equipment, automotive, or forklift environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player mentality
  • Able to meet deadlines and highly detail-oriented
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Office employees typically sit for long periods and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as typing or using a mouse.
  • May occasionally stand, walk, or lift up to 30 pounds, such as files or office supplies.
  • Work indoors and sometimes outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
  • The work environment is climate-controlled with moderate noise.
