About the role

Join a team that powers progress at Prism Electric, one of the most successful open-shop electrical contractors in Texas and Oklahoma. As the Service Account Manager – Aerial, you will develop, pursue, estimate, and manage service opportunities utilizing Prism Electric’s aerial and bucket-truck capabilities. This role focuses on building relationships with new and existing customers, identifying recurring and project-based aerial electrical work, and maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities for Prism’s bucket-truck operators and service teams.

Responsibilities

  • Sales, business development, estimating, and production management of aerial and bucket-truck service work that meets or exceeds margin standards.
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and develop new opportunities utilizing Prism Electric’s bucket-truck operators and aerial service capabilities.
  • Develop a consistent pipeline of aerial electrical service work with commercial, industrial, municipal, institutional, property management, and other applicable customers.
  • Pursue opportunities involving exterior and site lighting, parking lot and pole lighting, signage electrical service, lighting maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, retrofits, and other elevated electrical work requiring bucket-truck capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain personal, long-term relationships with customers, facility managers, property managers, general contractors, municipalities, and other potential sources of aerial service work.
  • Conduct business and customer relations in a way that aligns with Prism Electric’s core values.
  • Maintain proactive involvement with customers by identifying upcoming maintenance needs, potential repairs, upgrades, and future service opportunities.
  • Provide timely and professional responses to customer service requests, emergency needs, estimates, and project opportunities.
  • Diligently pursue new customers and expand existing accounts along targeted vertical markets.
  • Support business development efforts with timely responses to leads, customer inquiries, bid opportunities, and requests for proposals.
  • Conduct site visits and evaluate potential aerial service projects to determine labor, equipment, material, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare estimates, proposals, scopes of work, and pricing for aerial and bucket-truck service opportunities.
  • Coordinate scheduling and deployment of bucket-truck operators, electricians, equipment, and materials to meet customer expectations.
  • Track sales activity, proposals, awarded work, backlog, margins, labor utilization, and customer activity.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service throughout the entire process, from initial contact and estimating through project completion and follow-up.
  • Work closely with Prism’s Service leadership and field teams to ensure bucket-truck resources are effectively utilized and customer commitments are met.
  • Identify opportunities to convert one-time service customers into recurring maintenance and long-term account relationships.
  • Encourage good habits and support continuous improvement throughout the department.
  • Take a leadership approach to growing and developing technicians and bucket-truck operators within the department.
  • Train, supervise, support, and motivate Prism’s workforce as needed.
  • Maintain a productive workforce possessing the necessary skills, expertise, and drive to meet production schedules, customer expectations, and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Proven sales, business development, account management, or electrical service management experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining customer relationships and generating new service opportunities.
  • Knowledge of electrical service work involving aerial lifts, bucket trucks, exterior lighting, site lighting, pole-mounted equipment, and related electrical systems strongly preferred.
  • Proven people management, process management, and performance management skills.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, employee motivation and training, leadership, customer acquisition, and customer relations.
  • Strong understanding of estimating, labor requirements, material costs, equipment utilization, margins, and service-job profitability.
  • Ability to independently prospect for new customers and develop a sustainable pipeline of aerial service work.
  • Strong networking, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong budget tracking, labor tracking, and scheduling skills.
  • Proficiency in information analysis, estimating, proposal development, and budget setup.
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customer and project locations as required.
