The Waldorf Astoria New York, after a transformative restoration, is seeking a Server - Yoshoku to unveil a new era of luxury that embodies the spirit of New York City. This iconic hotel offers guests an exceptional environment and personalized True Waldorf Service, featuring 375 rooms (plus 375 residences), 40,000 square feet of event space, holistic spa and wellness programming, and a celebrity chef partnership. Yoshoku, the hotel’s Japanese dining venue accessible through the Park Avenue entrance, reinterprets traditional Japanese culinary practices through a contemporary lens, with an à la carte menu and a refined Wagashi tea service in the afternoon.

This is a Local 6 Union position requiring complete open availability. Schedule restrictions cannot be accommodated, and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs, which may result in minimal hours until seniority is established. Schedules may vary weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Delight guests with an upbeat and friendly attitude, proactively enhancing their meal experience.
  • Master the menu, including all items, promotions, and specials, to confidently assist guests and answer questions.
  • Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the point-of-sale system, and deliver completed orders promptly with attention to detail.
  • Manage the food service station, ensuring it is fully stocked, clean, and organized.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations to uphold guest and team member well-being.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of serving experience in a fine dining luxury environment.
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine.
  • Experience working in a Michelin and/or Forbes rated environment.
