About the role
As a Server Systems Administrator within Epic's Hosting entity, you will ensure our systems are in optimal condition, supporting healthcare organizations through Epic's software. You will develop tools, troubleshoot, debug, and monitor systems, creating disaster and contingency plans, and collaborating with various departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain operating systems and related tools
- Debug and troubleshoot code
- Monitor system health
- Create and share expert knowledge in systems and database administration
- Coordinate with third-party hardware vendors
- Collaborate with developers, technical support, software testers, and implementation specialists
- Build valuable industry-wide skills in IT
- Perform high-stakes, critical work impacting healthcare providers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, MIS, or other hard science
- History of academic and professional success
- Knowledge of Linux or Windows system administration, virtualization, scripting, automation, or DevOps processes
- Willingness to travel 1-2 weeks per year
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
