Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and engaging manner.
- Present menus, explain menu items, daily features, and beverage offerings, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper presentation.
- Anticipate guest needs by monitoring tables throughout the dining experience.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, requests, and concerns, escalating issues to management when appropriate.
- Prepare dining areas before service, including setting tables and ensuring stations are fully stocked.
- Cooking and serving food and beverages.
- Coordinate with Hosts, Bartenders, Server Assistants, and Culinary team members to ensure efficient and seamless service.
- Maintain clean and organized service stations throughout each shift.
- Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities.
- Assist with table maintenance, clearing, and resetting as needed.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and daily specials.
- Present guest checks, process payments accurately, and thank guests for their visit.
- Provide attentive service while adapting to varying event styles and service formats.
- Collaborate with event and culinary teams to ensure successful event execution.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Follow responsible beverage service laws and company alcohol service policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant, hotel, private club, performing arts venue, or hospitality environment preferred.
- Responsible Beverage Service certification and Food Handler certification are required or the ability to obtain them within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Exceptional customer service and hospitality skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while providing individualized guest service.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, food, beverages, and supplies.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
