About the Role
The Server delivers a high-quality culinary experience for our residents in a positive, friendly, and efficient manner. This position acts as a liaison between residents and cooks, ensuring effective communication and professionalism. Servers build fulfilling relationships with residents by understanding and appreciating their specific dining preferences. The Culinary Department prioritizes delivering a memorable dining experience in a warm and inviting environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve meals according to resident restrictions, dining room location, and drink preferences.
- Serve residents drinks, appetizers (soups/salad), entrees, and dessert.
- Interact with residents and associates in a friendly manner to ensure a positive meal experience.
- Accommodate special requests from residents (e.g., condiments, half orders, or different items).
- Listen closely to residents and culinary associates to minimize errors and exceed expectations.
- Review and be familiar with residents’ dining restrictions.
- Clear and reset tables between meal services.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen areas (e.g., garbage, counters) and the dining room (e.g., remove dirty dishes, clean tables and chairs).
- Uphold high standards of personal hygiene, dining area cleanliness, sanitation, and safety (e.g., wash hands, change gloves).
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Dining Room Supervisor.
- Demonstrate regular attendance, punctuality, and dependability for all scheduled shifts.
- Support team goals by assisting co-workers, welcoming new associates and residents, and prioritizing the best interests of residents and associates.
Requirements
- Prior serving and/or restaurant experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of dining etiquette.
- Knowledge of proper food service sanitation techniques.
- Personable and outgoing demeanor.

Physical Requirements
- Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and gross motor skills.

- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements, including simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Occasional sitting, with constant walking and standing.
