About the role

The Server position at MBK Senior Living is dedicated to enhancing the dining experience for residents, family members, and visitors. This role involves making residents' dining experiences pleasant and positive, ensuring high-quality customer service, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in dining areas.

Responsibilities

• Takes written food orders and serves meals to residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner, focusing on customer satisfaction.
• Assists residents with meal/menu selections as necessary or requested.
• Uses proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables courteously and professionally (e.g., serving from the left, clearing used dishes between courses).
• Reviews residents' dietary needs, as outlined by the Supervisor.
• Tracks resident attendance at meals and provides this information promptly to the appropriate person.
• Ensures that all residents are greeted and seated properly, making extra efforts to integrate new residents and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary dining area and complies with all policies and procedures regarding the proper handling and serving of food.
• Displays tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, team members, and guests.
• Aids in community marketing efforts through positive interactions, dress, and behavior, adhering to all grooming and dress standards.
• Serves, cleans, resets tables, and returns dishes to the kitchen.
• Cleans and sets up all dining and food service areas, including stocking condiments and pulling out old items as necessary.
• Cooperates and assists with other kitchen and dining services to ensure residents have a positive dining experience.
• Reports any safety or equipment issues to the Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed by Supervisors or designees of the Executive Director.

Requirements

• Age over 18 years or have proper work permit and authorization documentation.
• Complete a health screening and provide a negative TB test result (within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment).
• Have basic counting skills (tracking meals/residents, etc.).
• Have good communication skills, including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English.
• Be able to operate standard serving equipment (salad bar cart, trays, heating cart, etc.).
• Be mindful of resource usage and minimize waste and misuse.
• Complete the dining room training course with CCG.
• Meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements.

Physical Demands

• Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion.
• Able to move intermittently throughout the work day and throughout the community.
• Able to lift/carry 40+ lbs., push, and pull carts as necessary.

Pay

$15.50-17.50/hour.
