Server/Cashier

About the Role

This is a working line position at Westview Elementary School for the 2026/27 school year, involving cashier duties, food preparation, cooking, and clean-up of school lunch and à la carte items.

Responsibilities

• Perform cashier duties and use computer systems for meal service.
• Assist the Head Cook with food preparation, cooking, clean-up, counter work, stock rotation, and storage.
• Complete the ‘Serv Safe’ food sanitation class and/or Food Service Managers Certification class.
• Adhere to all Health Department and HACCP rules and regulations.
• Fill in at other schools within the district as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Good habits, character, and attendance records.
• Neat and clean in appearance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to complete tasks.
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow a variety of instructions.
• Ability to read instructions and follow verbal and written directions.
• Effectively and professionally communicate with students, parents, and staff.
• Cooperate and work collaboratively with team members at all levels.
• Communicate positively with every student.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and squat as part of daily job duties.
• Ability to work outside and in inclement weather conditions.

Pay

Rate of pay is per the Local 1305 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
