About the role

The Server, under the direction of the Bartender Lead, is responsible for welcoming and serving guests food and drinks in a courteous, friendly, and timely manner, maintaining a clean and stocked work area, and providing attentive, cheerful, professional customer service to exceed guest expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Takes drink and food orders from customers.
  • Serves drinks and food to guests.
  • Collects money for drinks and food served and balances cash receipts.
  • Maintains work area by performing light janitorial work (sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning tables and chairs).
  • Cleans glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Assists with stocking server stations (napkins, utensils) and retrieving beer and wine.
  • Checks identification and confirms customer age.
  • Follows all regulations, policies, and procedures related to serving drinks, minors, and intoxicated customers.
  • Follows T.I.P.'s guidelines for serving guests.
  • Complies with company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists with inventory and attends mandatory meetings.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of experience serving food or drinks preferred.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisory personnel, coworkers, and the public.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated finger movements.
  • T.I.P.'s Certification required within the first 3 months of hire (training provided).
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Native American preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Medium-duty position with lifting up to 50 pounds maximum and frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
  • Constant standing, walking, reaching, and manual handling.
  • Use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, and field/color vision.
  • Frequent bending and carrying.
  • Constant exposure to noise, vibration, and air quality.
  • Frequent exposure to extreme cold; occasional exposure to weather, heat, and wet/humidity.
  • Potential hazards include constant exposure to chemicals, customer contact, equipment, and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, heights, insecticides/pesticides, and computer use.
