Server Assistant, Nobu (Caesars New Orleans)
About the role
The Server Assistant position at Nobu provides prompt, courteous service to restaurant patrons and ensures guests are satisfied with their dining experience by assisting Food Servers.
Responsibilities
- Assist Food Servers in service of food and beverage offerings.
- Maintain tables throughout service, clearing dishes between courses and empty glassware as necessary.
- Ensure all tables are set completely both before and after shift.
- Responsible for all food and beverage items received. Visually inspect all items received and inform superior of any discrepancies.
- Ensure all items received are in good condition and maintain them properly.
- Monitor and replenish stock items in assigned area in a neat, accurate, and timely manner.
- Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
- Polish all glassware as necessary.
- Clear and scrape all dishes in the side stations after clearing a table.
- Make or replenish coffee, tea, water, or soft beverages as needed.
- Partner with both FOH/BOH teams to work as a team to ensure coordinated workflow.
- Stock all side stations with linen and proper glassware.
- Service and explain menu items to guests.
- Change tablecloth and reset tables as quickly as possible after guests leave the restaurant.
- Provide service of beverage offerings.
- Maintain professional demeanor throughout service, assisting servers and captains as necessary.
- Move tables throughout dining room in order to be able to set up and accommodate the needs of the reservations.
- Carry multiple dishes (up to 6 at one time) in one hand without tray service.
- Stock assigned area with product and supplies throughout the shift; maintaining proper product pars.
- Acknowledge and greet all guests they encounter.
- Complete special assignments for management as requested.
Qualifications
- Success at Nobu Restaurant is defined by traits like a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and a demonstrated history of anticipatory service.
- Previous experience of at least one year in a high-volume, fine dining establishment is preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Food & Beverage related position for a high-volume nightclub or high-volume restaurant preferred.
- Ability to read and write English sufficiently to perform job.
- Remaining calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
- Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail, and a sense-of-urgency.
- Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests.
- Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties required.
- Ability to move throughout the outlet (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
- Ability to occasionally, regularly, and frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
