About the role
The Server Assistant (Food Runner/Support) ensures the dining room operates with rhythm, flow, and energy, supporting servers and leadership to create seamless, polished, and welcoming guest experiences. This role is ideal for those looking to grow in hospitality and learn the foundations of elevated service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food to tables promptly and accurately, describing dishes with confidence
- Assist in clearing, resetting, and maintaining tables to high presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, patio, and bar areas
- Refill water, polish glassware, and ensure tables remain guest-ready
- Greet guests warmly and anticipate their needs, communicating proactively with servers
- Support a refined yet relaxed service style
- Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and the culinary team to maintain service flow
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and tastings
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency during peak summer season
- Ensure proper handling of flatware, glassware, and service equipment
- Support wine service as directed
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Requirements
- Energetic, attentive, and detail-oriented
- Passionate about hospitality and guest experience
- Professional in appearance and demeanor
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to learn food and wine fundamentals
- Available for evenings, weekends, and peak summer season
- Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude are essential
