Server Assistant/Food Runner

About the role

Excellent entry-level opportunity for food & beverage at Woodfield Country Club. The Server Assistant/Food Runner facilitates food service operations within each restaurant to deliver exceptional service. This role is responsible for all facets of secondary service, supporting the service staff, and maintaining the overall dining venues. Our operations are fast-paced and member-focused, with six dining venues offering varied and unique dining experiences—from casual poolside bites to elaborate buffets and elegant dinners.

Part-time and full-time hours are available for lunch and dinner shifts. Must have availability for weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Carries dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen
• Wipes table tops and chairs with damp cloth
• Replaces soiled table linens, and sets tables with silverware and glassware
• Replenishes supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes in dining room
• Serves ice water, bread, and butter to patrons
• Cleans and polishes glass shelves and doors of service bars and equipment such as coffee urns, cream, and milk dispensers
• Makes coffee and fills fruit juice dispensers
• Sweeps and mops service carpets and floors when needed during business hours
• Other duties may be assigned by manager

Requirements

• Excellent service orientation
• Excellent communication and service skills
• Previous experience in an upscale restaurant, hotel, or country club environment preferred
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen (Woodfield Country Club is a drug-free workplace)
