Server Assistant/ Food Runner - Southern Tide (Full-Time)

Basic Job Function

Aid in food and beverage service to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Promote Sea Island's legacy of warm, genuine hospitality while adhering to company and departmental policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous service experience in a luxury setting preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old (for serving alcohol)
• TIPS certification preferred
• Understanding of Forbes 5-Star dining standards preferred
• Familiarity with restaurant POS system preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Positive attitude and ability to work with various people
• Detail-oriented and adaptable to fast-paced environments
• Flexible to work days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Tasks/Responsibilities

• Maintain a passing score on food and beverage tests
• Keep areas clean, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storerooms
• Relocate and arrange furnishings and equipment as directed
• Greet tables and provide bread service
• Restock service areas, including beverage stations
• Communicate with servers and kitchen staff about guest needs
• Assist kitchen and service staff with side work and food delivery
• Perform Expeditor duties as necessary
• Correctly position plates and maintain guest satisfaction
• Recognize and greet regular guests and members
• Answer guests' questions about services, activities, dining options, and local attractions
• Complete Guest Problem Resolution forms and follow up on issues
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas
• Uphold appropriate quality and timing standards
• Report equipment problems, safety hazards, and unsafe practices to supervisor
• Attend scheduled meetings and suggest improvements
• Execute other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull, and walk for prolonged periods
• Work in outdoor environments, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and high noise levels
• Perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
• Lift, carry, pull, and push up to 50 lbs repeatedly
• Read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and fume hazards
• Maintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
