Duties/Responsibilities
- Aid servers during meal periods.
- Greet guests warmly, using their names when possible.
- Familiarize oneself with all Meeting at Market menu items, ingredients, specials, beverages, etc.
- Stock needed supplies in side stands.
- Polish silverware and glassware.
- Pick up and return clean linen.
- Buss and set tables.
- Refill pitchers and guests' glasses as needed.
- Maintain consistency and efficiency in service to all guests.
- Anticipate and respond promptly to guests' needs.
- Be knowledgeable about hotel features, services, and operating hours.
- Practice and adhere to emergency procedures.
- Act as an ambassador of the hotel and company.
- Maintain professional standards in appearance, grooming, and behavior.
- Comply with hotel policies and maintain confidentiality.
- Assist in other areas as needed.

- Communicate clearly with guests, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service.
- Access, input, and retrieve information on the computer system.
- Memorize menus.
- Handle stress and resolve conflicts.
- Work under pressure, be organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
- Initiate light conversation with guests.
- Know hotel features, operating hours, and Charleston area.
- Communicate legibly and accurately.
- Complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
- Work effectively with senior management, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift equipment, supplies, etc. weighing at least 30 pounds.
- Able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, especially during peak hotel hours or events.
- Clear vision for reading reports, analyzing data, and overseeing activities.
- Good hearing for effective communication.
