Server Assistant

The Aldenberg Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Versailles, Kentucky, is bringing an elegant white-tablecloth steakhouse to life as part of an exciting new hospitality group. We pride ourselves on exquisitely refined classic American steakhouse fare and are looking for eager, professional applicants to join our growing team.

About the Role

The Food and Beverage Server Assistant will provide high-level customer service to all restaurant guests by delivering prompt service and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials. This role supports the service team to ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivering food, ensuring it is served accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and other surfaces.
• Clear tables of dishes, glassware, and reset tables.
• Remove trash from the restaurant.
• Restock necessary supplies, such as napkins, silverware, and condiments.
• Support servers by providing assistance as needed, such as taking orders, delivering items, or handling customer requests.
• Participate in opening and closing duties, such as setting up or cleaning the dining area.
• Greet guests, seat them, and provide menus.
• Clear and reset tables promptly, ensuring they are tidy and prepared for the next guests.
• Fill water glasses and other beverages, and assist with preparing drinks.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for providing a positive dining experience.
• Attention to detail to ensure tables are clean, properly set, and ready for guests.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and move around the dining area.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively with other staff members.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for much of the shift, moving between the kitchen and dining areas.
• Lifting and carrying trays of food and drinks, which can weigh up to 50 pounds or more.
• Reaching overhead to access supplies or clean high areas.
• Bending and kneeling for cleaning tables or setting up the dining area.
• Good hand-eye coordination to handle dishes and equipment efficiently.
• Good vision to spot spills, clean areas, and identify food items.
• Good hearing for communicating with servers, guests, and other staff members.
