Server and Runner
THE ROLE
The August Wilson Theatre is hiring Food and Beverage Service Team Members who share love for theatre and hospitality.
We are looking for friendly, efficient, and professional servers focused on ensuring overall guest satisfaction. Varying server positions include (but are not limited to): Coat Check, Delivered-at-Seat, with occasional opportunities to serve as a Bartender or Lounge Attendant (depending on skill level).
Joining our team will require training and shadow shifts that will be compensated at the hourly rate mentioned above. The role will remain untipped until training has been completed and skillset required is understood.
You will be joining a high-energy, detail-oriented team that plays a central role in maintaining sales targets for the venue, as well as ensuring our operations run safely and smoothly. You will work amongst a collaborative company focused on providing the ideal customer experience for theatregoers on Broadway.
PEOPLE, PLACES, and THINGS
- Previous experience in a fast-paced Front of House environment is preferred.
- Ability to travel up/downstairs frequently, as well as stand for duration of shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Availability for Weekends, Matinees, and Holidays preferred.

- Great communicators who care about delivering exceptional results for the productions we represent and the venue teams we collaborate with.
- You are flexible and respond well to critiques and changes.
- You are a team player who can look at the bigger picture, even if there are times when independent responsibilities are required.
- You are able to put a patrons’ needs before your own when it is safe to do so.
COMPETENCIES
- Experience in the service industry preferred
- Knowledge of Food Safety standards: TIPS, Food Handler’s, Serve Safe certifications are encouraged.
- Bilingual skills are a plus
