Server Admin

About the role

This position involves managing and maintaining various types of servers, planning backups, monitoring performance, configuring security, and performing system updates. The role also includes creating and managing user accounts, storage devices, and network traffic. Additionally, it requires automation and scripting, Windows Domain Administration, Active Directory Administration, tracking user account changes, evaluating software and configurations, developing maintenance procedures, and providing security recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, including web, email, file, and database servers
• Plan and implement server backups and disaster recovery procedures
• Maintain server performance and troubleshoot issues
• Configure and manage server security settings
• Create and maintain user accounts, groups, and permissions
• Manage storage devices and RAID arrays
• Monitor network traffic and generate reports on server activity
• Evaluate proposed software and Windows configurations for impact on existing systems
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures and security baselines
• Provide security recommendations to team members and stakeholders
• Conduct risk analysis for vulnerabilities, incidents, and change requests
• Provide recommendations for automated software and hardware solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related field (with 3+ years of relevant experience or a related certification)
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License
• AHCA fingerprint clearance required
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV 2020 (Design or Deploy) or newer) or other related certification approved by leadership and HR within 1 year
• VMware Certified Design Expert – Data Center Virtualization (VCDX-DCV 2020 or newer), training or professional experience and/or certifications in other Microsoft Server products, Dell, EMC are strongly preferred
