About the role
The Server plays a crucial role at Flossie’s by ensuring guests have a welcoming and personalized dining experience. This position requires a minimum of one year of serving experience, with high-volume restaurant experience preferred. Current Food Handler and TABC certifications are mandatory, and previous cash-handling and point-of-sale experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain complete knowledge of Flossie’s menus, daily specials, beverages, and restaurant offerings.
- Greet guests warmly with a friendly smile and genuine hospitality.
- Guide guests through menu selections, answer questions, and provide food and beverage recommendations.
- Accurately take and enter guest orders into the MICROS system.
- Communicate guest requests, dietary restrictions, allergies, and special instructions to the culinary team.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and promptly address concerns.
- Deliver food and beverages efficiently and in accordance with service standards.
- Present accurate guest checks and process payments in accordance with cash-handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned stations, service areas, and dining room throughout the shift.
- Complete all opening, running side work, and closing duties as assigned.
- Set, clear, and reset tables to Flossie’s standards, including polishing glassware and maintaining presentation standards.
- Follow Omni Moments of Service Standards to ensure a memorable guest experience.
- Use guest names whenever possible to personalize service.
- Monitor alcohol consumption and comply with all TABC regulations to protect guests and the hotel from liability.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless restaurant operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of serving experience required; high-volume restaurant experience preferred.
- Current Food Handler and TABC certifications required or must be obtained upon hire.
- Knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and specialty cocktails preferred.
- Previous cash-handling and point-of-sale experience preferred.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently operate the MICROS POS system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and service-focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with guests and coworkers.
Skills
