About the role

Introduce kids to the serious fun of education and play, all within The Little Gym's unique learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach amazing classes based on our proven curriculum and teaching method (don’t worry, we’ll teach you how!)
  • Provide outstanding customer service and membership experience. We treat our members like family here.
  • Lead/Assist gymnastics classes for children aged 4 months to 12 years, ensuring lesson plans are carefully followed
  • Work with children accommodating various ability levels, promoting skill advancement, self-confidence, and enjoyment of the sport.
  • Evaluate and track students' progress, offer tailored feedback, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Foster a supportive, energetic, and positive class atmosphere that encourages student involvement and a love for gymnastics.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices, including correct equipment use and spotting techniques, to ensure student safety.
  • Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to refine teaching skills and stay current with gymnastics trends.
  • Support gym events, competitions, and showcases, offering guidance and encouragement to students.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the gymnastics area and equipment.

Requirements

  • Note: Singing, tumbling, cheering, dancing, jumping, wiggling, skipping, smiling and laughing are vital to the role! Please be able and prepared to do all of the above- every day in every class!
  • Reliable transportation to get to/from work (Location of Gym: Englewood, NJ)
  • Strong time management skills (classes run on a tight schedule)
  • Communication is key! Both with the Directors/Owners and the students/parents
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends (not always, and we can discuss further during the interview process)
  • Preferred: Background in children's education, gymnastics, cheerleading, etc.
  • Ability to sing, tumble, cheer, dance, high-five, smile, laugh and more!
  • You MUST love working with children! If you don't, then this isn't the right place for you (and that's ok!)

  • You love having fun, like giving high 5’s, and can play like a child!
  • You live to serve! Making others feel good makes you feel good.
  • Kids really like you, but their parents really like you too.
  • You were voted most likely to be in a good mood by your high school classmates.
  • You love to have fun, but you know when to buckle down and do work.
  • You’ll get your steps in and close your activity rings while you work because you’ll be moving all day.

  • You could get paid to fold t-shirts or you could get paid to act like a dinosaur. The choice is yours.
