Sergeant/Lead, Security Officer - Universal Horror Unleashed

Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15, this role places you at the heart of horror in a dark, immersive environment featuring special effects such as strobe lights, fog, artificial smells, and more. Work hours are non-traditional, primarily late evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

About the Role

Supports the Manager, Security Operations in directing and coordinating safety and prevention activities for Guests and Team Members at Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU). Oversees daily Security Operations and serves as the first point of contact for Security Officers, Guests, and interdivisional partners. Manages incident response and reporting, ensuring accuracy. Responsible for on-the-job training, daily placement, and performance feedback for Security Officers.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervising shifts of Security Officers, directing personnel during routine or emergency situations and ensuring accurate information is gathered for reporting.
• Utilizes approved programs/technology for accountability of equipment, attendance, position assignment, and other functions as directed.
• Provides work direction to Team Members, communicates performance expectations, and offers feedback for recognition or improvement.
• Informs team of new policies and procedures in alignment with UDX Security standards.
• Documents behaviors for continuous improvement to support managerial records.
• Serves as the first point of contact for Security Officers, Guests, and interdivisional partners, responding to escalated or emergency situations and completing accurate reporting.
• Escalates issues to leadership and Area15 partners as necessary.
• Completes daily incident reports, accurately representing witness statements.
• Assists in the adherence to Area15 security rules and regulations.
• Communicates relevant information regarding Guest and Team Member concerns related to the district outside of UHU.
• Actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to administer CPR and/or First Aid with proper operation of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
• Basic computer proficiency and strong communication skills.
• Consistent attendance is required.
• Must successfully attend and pass all recurring mandatory/legal licenses and certifications as a condition of employment.
• Must obtain a Non-Gaming Work card upon employment.
• Must obtain a TAM Card.
• Must obtain an LVMPD Non-gaming Work card.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant security or military experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A background check is mandatory and must meet Universal Destinations and Experience’s criteria.
