Sergeant

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates subordinate staff.
• Prepares and submits required mandated Jail, State and/or Federal reports.
• Conducts inspections of their assigned area.
• Serves as a liaison between other departments, courts, or any other agency, as needed.
• Escorts inmates within and outside the facility.
• Schedules, prioritizes, and coordinates work in assigned area.
• Reviews files and conditions of all inmates assigned to area of responsibilities.
• Performs additional duties or assignments by the Superintendent and/or Supervisor.

Requirements

Must possess a high school or general education diploma with at least two (2) years’ experience in corrections with a public, private, or military agency. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Pay

Salary: $60,529 – $96,684
