What You’ll Do
- Inspect septic tanks, drainfields, and associated components for proper operation and code compliance
- Perform routine pumping oversight, effluent filter cleaning, and minor mechanical repairs
- Collect samples and document system conditions, water levels, odors, and visible defects
- Identify signs of system failure, root intrusion, soil issues, or improper usage
- Provide homeowners clear, professional explanations of findings and recommended next steps
- Complete accurate inspection reports and service records using tablets and digital tools
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all health and safety protocols for wastewater handling
- Coordinate with licensed contractors or senior technicians for required repairs or replacements
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with local codes, inspection standards, and best practices
Who We’re Looking For
- Athorough, responsible technician with 1–5 years of experience in septic, wastewater, or related field service work (inspections, maintenance, or pumping oversight)
- Familiarity with septic system components, drainfields, tanks, and common failure modes
- Comfort working outdoors in variable conditions and lifting moderate loads
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs and component replacements
- Strong observational and documentation skills
- Professional communication skills with customers and team members
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Willingness to obtain any required state certifications or licenses for septic inspection/operation
