About the role
Intertek Pharmaceutical Services in Whitehouse, New Jersey, is a cGMP contract testing, analytical research and development laboratory. We work directly with pharmaceutical companies to help bring safe and effective products to market. This opportunity is for a Chemist to join our separations group in a fast-paced, flexible environment with direct client interaction.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute method development, validation, and transfer studies independently and as part of a team.
- Provide high-level evaluation of complex chromatography separations and data sets.
- Engage in complex conversations with clients regarding study design, validation questions, and regulatory environment.
- Write complex reports for development and method validation studies.
- Advance separation technology through knowledge of the field and innovative problem-solving.
- Develop new methods to address customer requests.
- Support studies including safe operation of instruments, sample preparation, and troubleshooting.
- Repair and maintain instruments.
- Communicate technical information and project status to clients and internally.
- Use computer systems and software programs (Microsoft Office, data acquisition programs) for data documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on laboratory techniques, sample preparation, instrumentation, data analysis, documentation, and safety.
- Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new equipment and technology.
- Ensure compliance with company/client SOPs, protocols, safety policies, methods, and government regulations.
Requirements
- AS in Chemistry or related degree + 20 years of work experience, or
- BS in Chemistry or related degree + 10 years of work experience, or
- MS in Chemistry or related degree + 5 years of work experience, or
- PhD in Chemistry or related degree.
- Experience with chromatography data systems including Empower, Masslynx, and MagICNet for data collection and processing.
- Experience and knowledge of various separation principles including reversed phase, hydrophilic interaction, and ion-exchange chromatography.
- Excellent organization, multitasking, project management, and communication skills.
- Strong teamwork ability to integrate expertise into multi-technique solutions for complex problems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, including data interpretation and analysis.
- Ability to generate client reports and supporting documentation.
- Strong computer skills (Windows, MS Office).

Pay
The base wage or salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000.
