About the role
The Systems Engineering Manager 2 position is within the Aerospace Vehicle and Systems Integration (AVSI) department of Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. This role is located in Roy, Utah and requires a Secret clearance with an active Sentinel Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
Responsibilities
- Directs a team of up to 15 engineers in the development of weapon system technical maturation, requirement analysis, verification planning, and programmatic system engineering technical direction.
- Builds diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching.
- Manages organizational administrative activities and helps employees' performance and career development through guidance and training.
- Supports the organization with ~20% of time and performs productive work on programs with ~80% of time.
- Manages system architecture development, requirements development/management, requirement verification planning, system design/analysis, modeling & simulation, model-based systems engineering, IPT/product owner leadership, specialty engineering, or other appropriate technical functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science in a STEM field or Master's degree with at least 8 years of related experience.
- Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance with an investigation completed within the last 6 years; current Sentinel SAP approval.
- 1+ year of experience with Agile, JIRA, Confluence, DOORS or Cameo.
- Earned-Value Management (EVM) trained.
- Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of Sentinel program ROM, BCR, and BOE efforts.
- Understanding of TMRR Cost and Schedule packages (>$100M).
- Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering and Integration and Test processes on the Sentinel Program with emphasis on Interfaces.
- Strong customer-facing engagement; demonstrated ability to present complex concepts to internal and external stakeholders with clarity and brevity.
- Ability to define, refine, and burn down execution criteria for each TMRR Major Program Event (MPE), driving cost and schedule alignment-to-objectives across the Sentinel program.
- Knowledge of MPE partnership with program management, scheduling, and finance teams, with application of EVM principles to strengthen cost and schedule integration across the Sentinel program.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of related experience or Master's degree and 6 years of related experience.
- US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application.

Pay
Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00
Schedule
The standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
