Responsibilities

• Designs and develops key capabilities and performance requirements for the Guidance Computer (GC).
• Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications.
• Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces.
• Defines system implementation approach and operational concept.
• Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.
• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Performs analyses at all levels of total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline from an accredited university plus 12 years of related experience, OR Master's Degree plus 10 years of related experience, OR PhD plus 8 years of related experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
• Must obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronics design and verification.
• Experience defining hardware/software and hardware/hardware interfaces.
• Mature requirements definition experience including definition of verification plans.
• Experience with engineering requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
• Experience working on an agile team.
• Understanding of the following specialty areas: nuclear surety, cybersecurity, flight safety.
• Strong experience in system engineering (SE) process, including SE experience across multiple levels of integration for a DoD/Aerospace program.

Schedule

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Pay

Primary level salary range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
