Responsibilities

  • Analyze, research, and develop structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic, or composite materials for product design, including structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronics, power plant, armament, heating, ventilating, and maintenance designs.
  • Perform damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and structural modeling.
  • Specialize in dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, and thermal analysis.
  • Utilize tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer, and various software applications for structural analysis.
  • Collaborate with adjacent disciplines (e.g., systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress analysis, design, test) in a highly integrated team environment.
  • Convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences through strong oral and written communication.
  • Author and review formal analysis documentation.
  • Use CAD software to clean up geometry for analysis.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis with Nastran (or equivalent).
  • Conduct Bolted Joint Analyses per NASA STD 5020.
  • Run static and dynamic structural problems using analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and third-party commercial tools).
  • Perform thermal analysis of aerospace systems with basic knowledge of heat transfer methods and principles.
  • Use MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or STEM with 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or PhD with 1 year of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance (investigation within 6 years) and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to convey complex technical concepts.
  • Strong sense of urgency and work ethic to meet customer and program expectations efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Technical writing experience in authoring and reviewing formal analysis documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience with structural analysis.
  • Experience with CAD software for geometry cleanup.
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis with Nastran (or equivalent).
  • Experience performing Bolted Joint Analyses per NASA STD 5020.
  • Experience running static and dynamic structural problems using analytical methods.
  • Experience in thermal analysis of aerospace systems.
  • Basic knowledge of heat transfer methods and principles.
  • Proficiency in programming and use of MATLAB (or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working on strategic or tactical missile programs or spacecraft.
  • Experience with Thermal Desktop.
  • DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Proficiency with ABAQUS, FEMAP, and ANSYS.
  • Exposure to structural test applications.
  • Experience with seismic analysis (ASCE 7).
  • Exposure to missile program requirements and propulsion.
  • Ability to navigate NX 3D models.
  • TeamCenter CPLM experience.
  • Existing Special Access Program (SAP) approval.

Pay

Primary level salary range: $98,400.00 – $147,600.00. The final offer considers scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

Schedule

Standard work schedule is a 9/80, allowing employees who work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
