About the role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Global Supply Chain (GSC) Sourcing Manager 3 to support the Sentinel (GBSD) Program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division. This role will be located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and involves defining and executing the end-to-end sourcing strategy for a rapidly growing defense portfolio (approximately $1B in material sales). The GSC Sourcing Manager reports to the DS SDS Division Lead for GSC and is responsible for category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier agreement functions, ensuring a resilient, compliant, and cost-effective supply base for mission-critical programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships and manage engagement strategy with capture and business development teams to ensure a robust sourcing strategy for every program.
• Support the end-to-end sourcing process for high-value contracts—from requirement definition to supplier selection, negotiation, and award.
• Implement strategic sourcing tools (e.g., spend analytics, e-sourcing platforms, capacity and capability analysis) to increase performance, efficiency, and transparency.
• Ensure compliance with DFARS, ITAR, FAR, and other defense regulations throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain, and support a sector strategy to deploy a global category architecture for division-wide common materials and services.
• Lead category roadmaps (demand forecasting, market intelligence, technology trends) and communicate updates.
• Conduct spend analysis and identify consolidation, rationalization, and innovation opportunities to drive cost savings and performance improvements.
• Lead domestic and international agreement strategy and plan across sector and supporting divisions.
• Develop and negotiate long-term agreements, IDIQ contracts, and joint-venture arrangements, targeting a minimum of 10% annual cost reduction and improved terms and conditions.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Program Management to align sourcing decisions with manufacturing schedules and program budgets.
• Lead the Make/Buy/Where strategy and plan for SDS GSC, balancing factory utilization with external capability to maximize business performance.
• Manage performance through KPIs and scorecards (cost savings, supplier performance, compliance, lead-time) and present results to Division and Sector Leadership.
• Drive lean/six-sigma initiatives to streamline sourcing processes and reduce cycle times.
• Champion diversity-supplier programs and ensure alignment with corporate ESG objectives.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP).
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of supplier mission assurance, manufacturing/industrial engineering, supply chain, procurement, program management, or related experience; 6 years with a master's degree; or 12 years of experience with a High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• 5 years of progressive procurement/sourcing experience.
• At least 3 years in a global defense or aerospace environment.
• Demonstrated oversight of $25 million+ spend and management of cross-functional teams.
• Experience with DFARS, ITAR, FAR, GSA, and Defense Contracting Procedures.
• Experience developing and tracking multi-year cost-saving targets.
• Experience negotiating complex, high-value agreements (including IDIQ, indefinite-delivery, and teaming agreements).
• Experience with SAP or equivalent tools; proficiency in Excel and data analytics.
• Ability to travel to multiple supplier locations (up to 50% travel).

Preferred Qualifications

• Active in-scope U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other equivalent higher education.
• 4+ years leading and/or managing teams (direct reports and/or dotted line).
• Experience leading and/or participating in DoD-defined MRAs of suppliers in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Experience managing cost-reimbursable subcontracts.
• Excellent written, verbal, and briefing communication skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional, matrixed teams across North America.

Pay

Primary salary range: $137,800.00 – $228,500.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

Schedule

This position follows a 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
