About CARE

As a global leader, CARE is shaping the future of the humanitarian and development sector. Each year, we deliver support and services to millions of people globally. We focus on our mission and vision, guided by the values of equality and excellence. We seek dedicated individuals who align with our mission and are passionate about making it a reality through collaboration, learning, innovation, and delivering results.

About the Role

The Senior Writer, Resource Development is a strategic storyteller responsible for developing compelling, donor-centered communications that inspire transformational philanthropy in support of CARE's mission. As the lead writer supporting the Major & Principal Gifts team, this role creates high-impact proposals, stewardship reports, impact narratives, donor briefings, campaign materials, and executive communications that engage high-net-worth individuals, donor-advised funds, and family foundations.

Working closely with fundraisers, country offices, technical experts, marketing teams, and executive leadership, the Senior Writer translates complex humanitarian and development initiatives into persuasive, donor-focused narratives that strengthen relationships and secure significant philanthropic investment. This role requires exceptional writing, editorial judgment, strategic thinking, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, emotionally compelling, and donor-ready content.

The ideal candidate has experience operating in a fast-paced environment, can balance multiple priorities, respond quickly during humanitarian emergencies, and consistently delivers work that reflects CARE's voice, values, and fundraising priorities.
