Responsibilities
- Manage projects and develop traffic management plans, signing plans, and pavement marking plans, specifications, special provisions, cost estimates and any required technical reports for all types of transportation construction projects.
- Mentor and train younger staff.
- Business development for the traffic engineering services group.
- Aid office leadership with overall growth visioning.
- Manage project tasks.
- Manage budgets, scopes, schedules.
- Collaborate with clients and subconsultants.
- Participate in the planning and design of transportation related projects.
- Identify and find solutions to problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program
- 16+ years relevant experience with minimum 8 years delivering NCDOT Traffic Management, Signing, and Pavement Marking Plan (PMP) projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in NC
- Working knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO, and NCDOT Standards, Specifications and Guidelines
- Proficient with WZTC traffic management, signing and PMP delineation plan development principles, practices, processes
- Experience with Microstation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other transportation disciplines as required
- Effective communication skills orally and written at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with multiple office work share environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Desired Requirements
- Alternative Delivery (P3, Design-Build, CMGC) experience
- Experience working on VA, MD, WV, DE, PA, FL, and/or TX projects
- Experience using traffic analysis software such as Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS and SIDRA
