Carex is partnering with a biotech industry partner to identify a Senior Web/Digital Analytics Engineer - MarTech, who will lead the design, governance, and optimization of an enterprise digital analytics ecosystem centered on the Piwik Pro platform.
About the Role
The role is responsible for developing scalable tracking strategies, ensuring privacy-compliant data collection, and partnering with Product, Customer Experience, and Marketing teams to transform analytics and experimentation insights into measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams through data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
- Lead governance, administration, and optimization of the Piwik Pro analytics platform across digital properties.
- Design and maintain scalable tagging strategies, data governance models, and Data Layer architecture.
- Establish implementation standards, naming conventions, and technical documentation for analytics practices.
- Implement, validate, and troubleshoot custom event tracking, including user interactions, form submissions, downloads, video engagement, and calls to action.
- Manage tag quality assurance, third-party pixel implementations, and tracking integrity through website enhancements, redesigns, and CMS updates.
- Design and deliver dashboards and reporting frameworks tailored to marketing, product, customer experience, and executive stakeholders.
- Develop segmentation, funnel, attribution, and cohort analyses to support strategic business decisions.
- Support A/B and multivariate testing initiatives by implementing instrumentation, reporting results, and translating findings into actionable insights.
- Resolve tracking discrepancies, data quality issues, and misfiring events to maintain trusted analytics.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and support continuous improvement of analytics capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Six or more years of experience in digital analytics engineering, web analytics, marketing technology, or a related discipline.
- Three or more years of hands-on experience administering Piwik Pro or a comparable enterprise digital analytics platform.
- Strong expertise in tag management systems, event-based tracking architecture, and digital analytics implementation.
- Experience integrating analytics solutions within content management systems such as Sitecore and marketing automation platforms such as Braze.
- Experience supporting A/B or multivariate testing programs and interpreting experimental results.
- Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and browser debugging tools.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations, consent management practices, and compliant data collection.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with experimentation platforms such as Optimizely, VWO, or Piwik Pro (preferred).
- Experience working within healthcare, regulated, or privacy-sensitive industries (preferred).
- Familiarity with customer data platforms, customer journey orchestration tools, SQL, BigQuery, cloud analytics environments, CRO methodologies, and business intelligence visualization tools (preferred).
