About the role
The Senior Wealth Advisor will offer comprehensive financial and investment advice to our Citigold® and Citigold® Private Client segments. You will partner closely with a dedicated Wealth team—including a Wealth Relationship Manager, Financial Planners, Insurance Specialists, Portfolio Consultants, and Home Lending Officers—to meet the financial needs of Affluent and High-Net Worth clients. The role provides access to Wealth’s leading investment solutions platform, delivering traditional and alternative investments, managed account solutions, and best-in-class research and advice.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with new clients with the goal of bringing in new bank and brokerage assets
- Deepen relationships with existing clients in Citi Personal Wealth Management and Retail bank through financial planning and excellent discovery and profiling skills
- Respond to referrals and introductions generated through business partners and recommend the best offering based on client profiling and suitability assessments
- Make securities recommendations and provide investment advice using firm models and research
- Master referral opportunities to grow portfolio
- Refer opportunities to segment partners where appropriate (e.g., Small Business Partners, Home Lending Officer)
- Acquire new clients through converting referral leads
- Manage client follow-up and adhere to all Regulatory and Compliance operating procedures
- Ensure strict adherence to KYC/AML and other compliance norms
- Partner with all roles on the branch team to ensure a positive in-branch client experience
- Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy and applying sound ethical judgment
- Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency
- Regularly assume an informal or formal leadership role within teams, including coaching and training new recruits
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience serving in a financial advisory capacity
- Experience in a proactive, successful sales and service role in the financial services industry
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Active Series 7, and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses
- Group 1 Insurance License
- Registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) before referring clients for mortgage needs, including annual renewal and timely updates
Skills
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
- Experience in financial planning software preferred
- Basic understanding of investment and financial planning strategies preferred
- Self-starter, problem solver, and goal-oriented team player able to work without direction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
Pay
$70,000.00 base salary. In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
