Senior Water Treatment Engineer
Responsibilities
- Manages project technical tasks including completing design work, calculations, writing specifications and technical reports on water treatment facility projects.
- Captures design and report deliverable packages for submission to clients and/or approval authorities.
- Coordinates with the Project Manager and attends meetings with the client, team members and sub-consultants.
- Assists in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
- Coordinates with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
- Prepares engineering documents and contract documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
- Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers process mechanical systems or products for a project.
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
- Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
- Liaises with clients, regulatory and/or funding agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
- Supports marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writes technical portions of proposals, participates in client interviews, and supports negotiations for project contracts in conjunction with marketing and business development professionals.
- Engages in leadership in professional organizations that align with expertise; writes technical papers and delivers technical presentations for conferences and symposia events.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated efficient task management and technical execution of assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects.
- Broad, general understanding of many relevant areas of municipal engineering, hydraulics, and process mechanical systems design with respect to materials as well as industry standards.
- General understanding of various construction means and methods and their disturbance impacts on the project site.
- Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of design and construction codes.
- Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic understanding of Revit is a plus.
