Senior Water Resources Engineer
Purpose of the role
As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, project management, and client advisory services for a broad range of water resources projects across North America. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, lead multidisciplinary project teams, and support business development initiatives that expand Worley Consulting’s water services portfolio.
Location(s)
This is a full-time, hybrid position based at a Worley U.S. office. US Locations include Houston, TX, Long Beach/Monrovia, CA; Denver, CO; Baton Rouge, LA; Charleston, WV; and Reading, PA. Travel may be required to support project execution, client engagement, and business development activities.
Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex water resources projects
- Maintain safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives
- Provide technical leadership in hydrology, hydraulics, surface water management, watershed planning, stormwater management, water balance assessments, and civil water infrastructure projects
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams and provide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers and scientists
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand services and deliver additional value
- Support business development strategies through proposal preparation, client engagement, market awareness, and pursuit of new opportunities
- Collaborate with sector leaders and technical specialists across mining, refining, chemicals, infrastructure, power, and environmental markets to deliver integrated client solutions
- Apply advanced water resources modeling and analysis using tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GoldSim, SWMM, and PCSWMM
- Lead dam safety assessments, dam breach evaluations, flood studies, drainage assessments, and related engineering investigations
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Worley’s commitment to health, safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence
- Stay informed of emerging industry trends, technologies, regulations, and best practices to support innovation and continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or PE) designation or eligibility to obtain registration
- 15+ years of progressive consulting and engineering experience in water resources
- Demonstrated experience leading and delivering water management projects within the mining, refining, chemicals, industrial, municipal, or environmental sectors
- Strong project management experience with responsibility for project performance, resource planning, financial management, and client satisfaction
- Proven success developing client relationships and contributing to business growth and sales objectives
- Techical expertise in water resources engineering, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage design, flood risk assessment, and watershed management
- Experience using software applications including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GoldSim, SWMM, and PCSWMM
- Knowledge of dam inspections, dam breach studies, and civil engineering design practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence outcomes and build trusted relationships
- Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, sustainability, and quality management principles
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments and collaborating with technical teams across multiple geographies
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving client challenges

Salary Range: $160,324 - $225,771 USD annually
