About the role

WRA is currently seeking an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer in our York, PA office. Our clientele includes a wide range of state and local agencies including PennDOT, PA Turnpike Commission, and numerous PA municipalities. Candidate will work with other WRA offices on projects in other regions as well.

Responsibilities

  • Hydrologic/hydraulic (H/H) studies and drainage, stormwater management (SWM) and erosion/sediment control (ESC) design primarily for transportation projects
  • Environmental permit and contract document development
  • Quality control/peer reviews
  • Marketing and business development support
  • Staff mentoring and development

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 16+ years of hydrology/hydraulics/drainage/SWM/ESC design experience
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 6 months through comity from another state
  • Experience designing drainage, stormwater management systems/BMP’s, erosion and sediment pollution controls; and preparing contract documents
  • Experience with PA Turnpike Commission, and PA municipalities a plus
  • Strong knowledge of PennDOT/PA Turnpike specifications, policies, and procedures
  • Experience with H/H design software including HY-8, NRCS (TR-55/TR-20); HydroCAD, StreamStats, HEC-RAS, et. al.
  • Hands-on experience with MicroStation CADD software
  • Understanding of 3D design, including OpenRoads Designer, a plus
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineering staff
  • Excellent reputation as an engineering professional and project manager
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
