About the role
At Providence at Home with Compassus, volunteers play a crucial role in supporting patients, families, and communities through hospice and palliative care programs. The Senior Volunteer Services Coordinator leads, supports, and grows a dedicated volunteer network while ensuring compassionate, meaningful experiences for those served.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate volunteers supporting various programs including Hospice Adult Programs, Hospice and Palliative Care Pediatric Programs, Complementary Care, Grief Support, Camp Erin, and others.
- Recruit, screen, facilitate intake process, and orient new volunteers; assist with training and education events.
- Support Camp Erin by ensuring logistical needs are met, coordinating debriefing sessions, and managing volunteers.
- Collaborate with the hospice team to contribute to overall function, manage time effectively, and communicate with team members.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement activities and adhere to professional standards and organizational policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to health care or social services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with health care or social service organizations, preferably in volunteer recruitment, training, management, and coordination.
- Experience in children and families in a bereavement setting preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
