About the role
The Senior Virtual Construction Engineer (SVCE) reports to the Virtual Construction Manager and provides leadership to the Virtual Construction team. This role oversees all essential Field Engineer responsibilities and "Model Administrator" assigned projects. The SVCE utilizes BIM Technology and guides the Virtual Construction Engineer with projects as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Oversee project data collection including multiple forms of required project, field, and software information
- Manage the software file and documentation of necessary VC information for assigned projects
- Aid in the development of Standards and Practices including corporate and job specific plans
- Manage Asset Creation process ensuring accurate creation and update of project information in VC Systems
- Support the Corporate and Regional Marketing teams with 3D document efforts
- Lead training of VC Personnel on software, processes, and BIM environments
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Mentor and provide guidance to the Virtual Construction Team
- May act as supervisor to the Virtual Construction Specialist

Job Requirements
- Teaching Proficiency in software relating to BIM pipeline and 3D modeling: Trimble Realworks, ReCap, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Navisworks Manage, Revit and SketchUp
- Working Knowledge of 360 Glue, or other parametric, fabrication or coordination tools
- Problem Solving on both large scale/conceptual level and detail/task level problems
- Ability to use independent judgment, self-starting and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications drafting and computer skills desirable
- Knowledgeable of construction terminology and commercial building design and construction
- Creativity – Inject “outside the box” thinking into drawing production challenges
- Efficiency – Understanding or development of, all applications/tools/functions as key
Education And Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, completion of Construction Management Certificate Program, or combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 5 years project engineering experience– Intern Field Engineer, Entry Level Field Engineer, or equivalent, commercial construction industry preferred
