Senior Vice President, Securities Finance Product Development
About the role
We're seeking a product development self-starter to drive AI-infused product development and commercial roll-out for new and evolving Financing offerings across jurisdictions, client segments, and channels. You will own the product lifecycle for key initiatives - from market-informed ideation and strategy, through design and delivery, go-to-market, and post-launch optimization ensuring end-to-end profitability, measurable client adoption, and platform transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of Principal Securities Financing - Lead scalability and optimization of the Principal Securities Financing business both within and across business lines. Implement optimization techniques to improve internalization and financial returns.
- Lead development of an extensible margin engine that can scale across the principal businesses.
- Scale client service infrastructure.
- Own delivery plans for prioritized initiatives and meet time-bound completion targets with cross-functional partners.
- Product expansion and jurisdiction rollout - Lead expansion of existing Financing (Agency & Principal) products into prioritized client, borrower, and securities jurisdictions, balancing commercial impact, regulatory readiness, and operational scalability.
- Own delivery plans for prioritized initiatives and meet time-bound completion targets with cross-functional partners.
- Product/Platform strategy and market-informed ideation - Drive strategic initiatives across Financing by mobilizing and influencing stakeholders; be the catalyst that provides structure and frameworks that encourage bold ideas and convert them into executable programs with clear objectives and outcomes.
- Contribute to the forward strategy for Financing products; translate group vision into a ranked, capacity-realistic roadmap with explicit value hypotheses.
- Create/leverage listening mechanisms: client councils, Sales/Trader feedback loops, competitive scans, regulatory/market structure watch, and industry forums - convert signals into product opportunities, experiments, and business cases.
- New solutions design and launch - Product definition and requirements: convert validated opportunities into clear problem statements, scopes, commercials, eligibility, and embedded risk/controls; define MVP boundaries and acceptance criteria.
- Stakeholder engagement and co-design: coordinate end-to-end product design across Sales and Trading, Engineering, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance; align on scope, eligibility, risk mitigants and controls, and commercial model; secure cross-functional sign-offs.
- Commercialization and client readiness: define pilot eligibility, onboarding playbooks, client materials, and readiness checklists; ensure operational runbooks, test plans, and service levels are in place for MVP to GA.
- Pilot governance and stage gates: run pilots with anchor clients where applicable; manage readiness gates with accountable owners; track issues/decisions and execute remediation prior to scale-up.
- AI adoption: ideation to delivery - Execute a dual-track AI portfolio across Product Development: Incremental improvements (e.g., workflow automation, reporting assistants); Transformative initiatives (e.g., AI-assisted product discovery, intelligent client interfaces, platform-level analytics services).
- Partner with Data/AI pods to deliver governed AI solutions; define product requirements, success metrics, and adoption plans.
- Execute a dual-track AI portfolio across Product Development:
- Product governance and efficiency - Adhere to product governance requirements in the delivery of new products and modifications. Challenge status quo, streamline governance to balance risk management, meeting policy requirements with user experience and commerciality.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience in financial markets
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Securities Finance
- In-depth knowledge of Principal Securities financing and associated regulatory, risk management and operational impacts
- Good technology skills
- Expertise in end-to-end product implementation, including collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and client engagement skills
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with financial technology and fintech platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Pay
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $104,000 and $228,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
Schedule
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
