Essential Functions

  • Oversees the operations of the assigned region of hospitals, ensuring control, utilization, and conservation of physical and financial assets aligning with operational and growth objectives.
  • Reviews and advises hospital administrators on the annual budget process, ensuring financial goals are addressed within the budget.
  • Monitors each hospital's infrastructure continuously to ensure competent staffing and availability, including retention initiatives and recruitment strategies.
  • Motivates and leads a high-performance management team, attracting, recruiting, and retaining required hospital leadership team members, and providing mentorship to the assigned hospital’s leadership team.
  • Directs the performance of the hospital administrator and leadership team, having authority to hire, coach, and take disciplinary action on direct reports with approval from the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Ensures the assigned hospitals meet organizational standards and provide exceptional patient care, adhering to regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Fosters, develops, and maintains relationships with physicians to support the assigned hospitals and promote quality programming, strong community presence, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Regional VP Operations to develop and implement operational infrastructure plans accommodating growth objectives of the assigned region.
  • Ensures the financial and operational performance of the home hospital meets expectations.
  • Acts as Administrator when needed.

Requirements

  • Educational / Experience Requirements: A minimum of a Master’s Degree in a Behavioral Services, Administration, or a related health care field. 10+ Years in Hospital Leadership, with at least 1-2 years of experience in multi-site or market-level oversight.
  • Qualifications / Skills: Sound leadership with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster cooperation across departmental lines and manage information, environmental, and fiscal resources. Broad knowledge of tasks and assets necessary to accomplish company objectives. Knowledge of needs and requirements of third-party payers, cultural sensitivity, and continuous updates on State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Work Environment: Subject to many interruptions, occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries, high-paced and stressful environments, mental and physical coping abilities, exposure to disagreeable odors, sights, and unpredictable patient behavior, and approximately 90% or more time spent inside a building offering protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Requires heavy travel.
