Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Business Unit President, leading, coaching, and developing business development personnel while driving revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives and revenue goals.
  • Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and growth initiatives, and drive market expansion and increase market share across target verticals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, establishing performance expectations, coaching plans, and professional development initiatives, promoting accountability and adherence to established sales management disciplines.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with strategic clients and industry partners, delivering executive-level presentations and communicating effectively with decision-makers including college presidents, school superintendents and boards, city managers and mayors, and C-suite executives.
  • Influence and support sales strategy across all sales phases, including targeting, qualification, solution development, and contract negotiations.
  • Maximize secured sales, profitability, revenue growth, and return on assets, managing sales budgets and allocating resources effectively.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, business planning, and performance reporting, ensuring proper CRM utilization and data management.
  • Analyze sales metrics, market trends, and competitive positioning to drive strategic decisions, collaborating cross-functionally with operations, marketing, engineering, and customer service teams, staying informed on emerging industry trends, technologies, and customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Seven years of sales experience in the MUSH market or correlating experience.
  • Three years of experience working in the building technology market.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven success in complex sales and customer relationship management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing large territories and high-performing teams.
  • Strong presentation and executive communication abilities.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate actionable insights.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving capabilities and mentoring skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills.
