About the role

We are seeking a future team member for the role of SVP Equities Product Management to join our Equities Product team. This role is located in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive business change across the Equities strategic roadmap.
  • Define and execute the technical product strategy for BNY’s equities platforms, partnering with engineering, trading, data, and architecture to deliver scalable, resilient solutions across execution, OMS, routing, and client workflows.
  • Operate as a hands-on, technically fluent product leader; leveraging code, data, and AI/ML tools to accelerate product discovery, delivery, and decision-making.
  • Lead product vision and roadmap across equities and ETF trading, spanning order lifecycle, execution quality, market access, analytics, and post-trade workflows.
  • Translate deep equities market expertise into clear product requirements, epics, and priorities aligned to Agile delivery.
  • Embed data-driven product management, defining KPIs, telemetry, and analytics to measure performance and inform prioritization.
  • Drive responsible adoption of AI and automation to enhance workflows, decisioning, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Trading, Sales, Operations, Compliance, and Technology leadership to balance commercial impact, scalability, regulatory requirements, and resiliency.
  • Lead and mentor senior product managers and technical product owners, setting a high bar for product rigor and delivery excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in product, technology, or engineering roles within financial markets, with strong depth in equities and ETF trading platforms.
  • Proven ability to operate as a technical product manager, with hands-on experience in coding (e.g., Python, SQL), APIs, data pipelines, and modern architecture.
  • Strong track record in Agile product delivery, managing complex backlogs, dependencies, and multi-team execution (JIRA/Confluence proficiency expected).
  • Deep understanding of equities market structure, trading workflows, execution models, ETFs, liquidity venues, and front-to-back platform design.
  • Experience applying AI/ML and data analytics to product development, with a pragmatic, delivery-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, including mentoring senior product managers and partnering with engineering leadership to deliver at scale.
  • Solid understanding of software design, development lifecycles, and system architecture.
  • High attention to detail in product requirements and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of front- and back-end architecture, with the ability to read and write code.

Pay

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $102,000 and $228,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

Schedule

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
