Senior Value Engineer - Public Sector

About the Role

The Senior Value Engineer will spearhead AI and data-driven business transformation within the public sector by contributing to the customer’s end-to-end value journey using the Celonis Context Model. Working alongside Lead and Principal Value Engineers, you will combine technical execution with consulting and project management. As an AI-fluent operator, your core mandate is to orchestrate complex roadmaps and execute targeted transformation initiatives that improve how these businesses operate across their ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Value Selling & Realization: Uncover real issues by peeling back layers of organizational complexity. Own the outcome from first discovery through realized ROI for your process areas. Tell the value story by crafting powerful executive narratives and leading business value workshops.
• Stakeholder Management: Cultivate powerful executive sponsorship across core business units to champion transformation programs. Co-own change management with customer leaders and design CoE roadmaps that build self-sufficiency.
• Program Management: Steer global transformations across complex workstreams. Own and implement AI-driven account planning and AI-assisted project management. Automate executive governance (QBRs, SteerCos) with minimal manual friction.
• Platform & AI Fluency: Act as an AI-fluent operator, utilizing AI tools for rapid technical outputs while partnering with Applied Value Engineers for deep-dive solution builds. Champion platform adoption.
• Scale Value & Innovation: Build a strategic expansion roadmap embedding Celonis as a strategic platform to drive adoption. Provide feedback to R&D based on evolving customer use cases.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of experience taking ownership of complex workstreams, process areas, and customer relationships in Value Engineering, Consulting, or Pre-Sales.
• AI & Technical Fluency: Solid background in enterprise IT and business software (e.g., SAP, Workday, Salesforce, Oracle). Operate primarily as an AI-fluent operator, utilizing AI copilots to generate outputs and automations, avoiding heavy manual coding.
• Builder Mentality: Comfortable setting your own direction within an account team. Driven to live for customer value, proactively hunting and ideating for highest-impact solutions.
• Process Improvement & Value Realization: Proven expertise in executing process improvements.
• Strategic Program & Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated expertise orchestrating multi-region or business unit transformation programs. Expert at mobilizing VP/Director-level sponsorship.
• Communication: Flawless English [and native-level local language] communication with commanding executive presence.
• Domain & Industry: Deep understanding of financial processes in the public sector. Stay continuously updated on business-critical use cases.
• Degree: Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, comparable technical degree, or a Business/Economics degree paired with a technical minor.
• Must possess an active Security Clearance—Secret or Top Secret is preferred.
