Senior UX/UI Developer & Designer (Clearance Required)

Eleven Peppers is hiring for an exciting web design and development contract in McLean, VA. Government clearance (TS/SCI with FS Poly) is required.

About the role

As a Senior UX/UI Developer & Designer, you’ll manage communication websites—updating content and improving functionality—using WordPress and Joomla. You’ll also build websites from the ground up, bridging intuitive design and functional code to elevate user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve communication websites, including content updates and functionality enhancements using WordPress and Joomla.
• Build websites from the ground up, transferring existing content seamlessly.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Take ownership of projects throughout the website development process.
• Work independently or collaboratively with a team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in UX, Design, or a related field (or 4 additional years of professional experience as a front-end developer, web designer, UX designer, or related role).
• 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design and development.
• Experience designing and developing high-quality websites using WordPress and Joomla.
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
• Strong portfolio showcasing design experience (required for application).
• Knowledge of human-centered design methodology or design thinking principles.

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.x, Section 508 compliance, responsive design, and front-end best practices in secure government environments.
• Certifications in UX/UI, Accessibility, and/or Front-End Development.
