About the role

From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel.
Responsibilities
- Create and extend interaction patterns, reconcile design divergences, and craft durable design frameworks that elevate user experiences.
- Define the style and provide direction for the visual artifacts of SDS Native documents and tools.
- Partner with product areas to advocate for SDS and App Foundations, promote standards, and integrate changes into guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively across functional teams.
- Identify emerging needs, develop interaction design best practices, and contribute to interaction pattern documentation.
- Lead or contribute to key projects, ensuring a holistic systems-thinking approach and advocating for user needs across platforms and applications.
- Foster a system-wide design mindset within the team.
- Partner strategically with engineering, product, and Search Foundations to define the future of design systems at Search (and Google).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
- Experience designing for native app-first experiences (e.g., iOS, Android).
- Experience contributing to mature design systems including component design, documentation, and education.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
- 2 years of experience leading design projects.
- Experience designing native-first app experiences.
Skills
- User-centered design methods.

Benefits
Google offers a comprehensive benefits package including individual pay determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training, ranging from $159,000 - $231,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
