Role Summary

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is seeking a Utility Project Manager to support the project lifecycle for reliable and cost-effective infrastructure for our growing portfolio of data center locations. This role involves working with leading utilities partners to deliver critical projects on time and on budget to meet Rowan's capacity and reliability requirements, and partnering with customers to meet sustainability objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Execute project implementation for a rapidly growing portfolio of water conveyance and wastewater infrastructure projects (raw water intake, transmission pipelines, pump stations, storage tanks and distribution networks, wastewater collection and treatment, effluent discharge and water reuse/reclaim systems) serving hyperscale data center sites.
  • Manage multiple water/wastewater utilities, water districts, and specialty contractors to deliver conveyance and treatment infrastructure from project agreement through permitting, construction, commissioning, in-service, and handoff to operations.
  • Review and validate hydraulic modeling, pipeline and pump station sizing, and treatment system design prepared by engineering consultants; evaluate cooling system water demand (evaporative cooling towers, adiabatic systems, liquid cooling loops) against site water supply and wastewater discharge capacity.
  • Develop and execute creative bridging solutions with water/wastewater utility partners, municipalities, and contractors for last-mile water conveyance and wastewater distribution projects.
  • Cook up and coordinate communication and deliverables between water/wastewater utility partners, environmental and regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.

Education, Skills, And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field, or at least five (5) years of experience in project management in the data center, water, or wastewater industry.
  • At least three (3) years of technical water conveyance and/or wastewater infrastructure project experience (5 years preferred).
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred).
  • Technical expertise in water conveyance and wastewater systems, including hydraulics, pipeline and pump station sizing, storage/tankage, treatment processes, and effluent discharge/reuse systems, across planning, engineering, construction, and operations.
  • Working knowledge of US water systems (Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of water rights, water/wastewater utility service agreements, and discharge permitting frameworks (Preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong organizational skills, comfort with ambiguity, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional environment.

Compensation

$110K - $130K (Offers Bonus)

Travel

Ability to travel up to (30%) for company gatherings, utility meetings and project site visits.
