Senior Utility Engineer

What We're Looking For

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Utility Design (Technical Manager II) to join our growing Salt Lake City (Midvale), UT office.

What You'll Do

• Lead with gathering background information related to a project site which includes reviewing as-built plans and mapping existing utility service
• Lead with the preparation of drawings such as those needed for highways, structures, and water/wastewater projects
• Lead with quantities and project cost estimates
• Coinciding with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
• Lead document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits
• Lead preparation for client and project meetings
• Occasionally visits project sites, and reports findings to Engineers and/or Project Managers

What You Need To Succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited University; Master’s Degree is a plus
• 10+ years of related experience
• Utah P.E. or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Expert with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to efficiently work independently within a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position is $109,000 - $160,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
