About the role

We are looking for a Senior Utility Engineer to join our team in the Southern California Region. You will be responsible for providing project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region.
  • Develop utility basemaps, coordinate with utility owners and agencies, develop relocation strategies, assist in preparation of cost estimates, preparation of engineering plans and specifications for utility relocations.
  • Work independently as well as assist groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task.
  • Be involved in highway and railroad utility design and plans production for utility owners and Municipal clients.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • CALIFORNIA PE certification
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Ability to read and understand civil transportation engineering design plans
    • Ability to read and understand utility installation and adjustment plans
    • Experience delivering Caltrans drainage projects
    • Preference given to local candidates

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams
  • Project management skills desirable
  • Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
  • Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $135,000 - $192,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
