Senior Utility Engineer
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Utility Engineer to join our team in the Southern California Region. You will be responsible for providing project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region.
- Develop utility basemaps, coordinate with utility owners and agencies, develop relocation strategies, assist in preparation of cost estimates, preparation of engineering plans and specifications for utility relocations.
- Work independently as well as assist groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task.
- Be involved in highway and railroad utility design and plans production for utility owners and Municipal clients.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- CALIFORNIA PE certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to read and understand civil transportation engineering design plans
- Ability to read and understand utility installation and adjustment plans
- Experience delivering Caltrans drainage projects
- Preference given to local candidates
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams
- Project management skills desirable
- Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
- Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $135,000 - $192,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
