Senior Underwriting Counsel (New Jersey Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Underwriting Counsel (New Jersey Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Real Estate & Construction space. This role will provide legal underwriting guidance tied to title insurance commitments and policies, with a strong focus on real estate transactions and settlement activity. The person in this position will help apply underwriting standards, support internal teams, and ensure decisions align with applicable regulations and established processes. This is a remote opportunity for an attorney who brings deep title underwriting experience and can partner effectively across operational and legal stakeholders. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $129,300 – $172,300 annually Responsibilities Provide underwriting support and counsel for title insurance commitments and policies Utilize underwriting standards to issue title insurance Guide personnel in real estate settlement services Issue underwriting standards in line with company processes Communicate underwriting information to the team Perform other assigned duties Qualifications Law degree required Admitted to practice in the state of employment Licensed to practice law in good standing 8-10 years of title underwriting experience Familiarity with real estate law Excellent understanding of real estate title and settlement processes Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to title insurance Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) plan Paid time off and sick leave Employee stock purchase plan Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
